I had been on the look out for an activity I could do with my (at the time) eight month old daughter when a friend came to my rescue. My friend is a veteran expat mum and she suggested I enrol E in a “Mommy and Me” class at Grupikids in Marbella. For £85 you get eight 45 min classes over four weeks. Interested? Here is the low down…
Firstly I would like to say how lovely the staff are at Grupikids. It is a bilingual preschool for children aged 2 plus but they do have the bonus of this baby program. The nursery its self is clean and very well organised and every child I saw clearly adored the teachers and school.
Parking is on the street and whilst it looked like spaces could be hard to find, two of the mum’s drove every week and managed to park no problems.
The Mommy and Me class size started at five babies/toddlers and I think at largest was seven during the month we were there. (We only stopped attending the course because we went back to the UK for several months.) The ages of the other babies varied from us at 8 months up to 18 months. It was mainly mums and babies although a couple of sessions had grandma’s tagging along and one of the mum’s had their nanny with them.
The Mommy and Me class varied at each session and comprised of activities like soft play, music, painting, developmental and sensory play. E really seemed to come on developmentally in the time we were there and I went home each week armed with ideas for activities to try at home. Most importantly she enjoyed it and so did I.
